This is a Korean series based on the Japanese manga/anime Parasyte. I've never seen the anime or read the manga, but I have seen the Japanese live action movies that came out in 2014/2015, so I was somewhat familiar with the story going into the new show.
When unidentified parasites violently take over human hosts and gain power, humanity must rise to combat the growing threat.
I enjoyed it. It's basically another take on Invasion of the Body Snatchers, but with a little bit of The Thing thrown in. The CG can be iffy at times, but it didn't really bother me since there was a good amount of action. The writing wasn't anything special and can be predictable, but the pacing was solid and I dug the characters, so I was invested from the beginning. While I don't think it's as good as the Japanese movies, I did like it and would recommend checking it if you're in a sci-fi horror mood, especially if you're looking for a Body Snatchers clone.
However, I'd recommend either checking the anime or the live action movies (the movies are split into two parts) before the series, since things happen kinda fast and there's some fan service that only people familiar with the original story will get.
