I watched Blade Runner for the firs time last night. Not a bad flick, and its a world I wouldn't mind revisiting. Last ive heard is that Scott wants to do it but not include any characters from the first one. Either way I'm down. The one thing that really bugged me about the movie was Harrison Fords narration. Good lord it was awful.

Directors cut and the final cut are much better than theatrical imho.
If there is a sequel/spinoff/reboot I don't see them bringing anyone back. Replicants have a 6 year lifespan, the entire cast has aged liked mummies." She won't live, but then again who does?"

Posted 3 days ago. It is a go, but what would it be more like. Sure, we need a new cast and a new date for the movie.

If Ridley Scott is doing this should be interesting. To be honest I truly hope Harrison Ford isn't. I just feel he is coasting his rolls nowadays and there would be a good chance he will ruin the film for me if cast.

Blade Runner is a timeless classic and was way ahead of it's day. A sequel to it doesn't bother me that much if the right team is on it, and Ridley and Fancher would give it promise. I just don't want to see a remake.

Its about time for this to be updated. The release is scheduled for next year (2017) and is looking promising and is one of the few times im excited for a remake.
The reason i am so excited for this remake and not throwing up the way i would be in most likely any other scenario. Is because its written by Ridley Scott and the director is Denis Villeneuve. Villeneuve's recent work is Arrival, but he has also done Polytechnique, Sicario and Enemy.
So the movie will be written by the original author and directed by a man who knows how to do proper sci-fi.

Doesnt look bad. The trailer kind of makes it look like a typical sci fi movie released today. Hopefully that's not the case.

As far as i'm concerned Blade Runner is one of the best movies/sci-fi movie ever made. It is still to this day my favorite flick of all time, and this new chapter is easily my most anticipated movie to date.
I've had the pleasure of seeing Blade Runner twice on the big screen. First time was the initial theatrical version with the voice over narration when it came out back in '82, and then caught the theatrical Directors cut version that came out for the 10yr. anniversary..... and have seen it in one version or another probably close to 25 times over the years.
I see chop licking potential here with 2049, and i'm pretty pumped up about it, but understandable hesitant at the same time about getting too emotionally invested. I mean after all - the light that burns twice as bright lasts half as long..........

That was kind of a dumb trailer. I'm left feeling just 'meh' about the movie. Nothing in that trailer excited me for this movie.
