Yeah, I was really disappointed in this one (Columbiana). The character here wasn't as annoyingly unbelievable as was found in Alias, but they both made mistakes and wrapped their plots around character inconsistencies. Luc did not make these mistakes when he wrote Nikita.
As Leone is modeled after the Trevanian archetypical shibumi assassin, Mathilda is very closely related to Nikita. So, in a sense, he's already made the movie you're wanting to see, even though the backstory is different between the two characters (though it doesn't have to be...who's to say Mathilda doesn't become a druggy street urchin on her way to turning pro, whether it be for the mob or the government?).

i was lucky enough to see this at the beginning of the week at a special screening Mark Millar himself attended and my thoughts? that genuinely it is one of the best films ive seen. I felt it had everything- great comedy , it was dark, sometimes sad, had great action scenes, great characters and overall it was exciting to watch. Whilst im sure many will disagree with me i absolutely loved it. 10/10

I hated the first Kick Ass. I tried watching it again and it's just a really lame movie IMO.

I didn't think it was as good as the first but the sequel suffers from a lot of the same problems as the first film. What was good in the first film (Hit Girl) is good in this film but what was kinda lame in the first film (Kick Ass, villains) are even more lame in the sequel. That said, there are some cool sequences and Jim Carey is really good. I wish he had played Big Daddy in the original. With the make up he could have pulled off playing both roles just fine.
As for the rest of the wannabes, Hit Girl would have been better off teaming up with The Mystery Men because Mother Fucker was no Casanova Frankenstein.
