Really? I agree, sort of, about House. I thought it was quite terrible. Devil's rejects I truly enjoyed. I think it's a great film and I really liked RZ's Halloween. But H2 was just... just a horrible film and an insult to the Michael's character. He barely ever wore the mask for God's sake. The mask isn;t just to hide his face, it's a part of his identity...
Right now he has a 50% rating with me. 2 great movies, 2 insanely terrible movies.

I prefer the 1980's remake over the Steve McQueen original myself. To me, they are both good, however the 1980's remakes is superior.
Rob Zombie is likely going to claim he is remaking or "updating" the 1950's blob to be truer to the original and preserving horror film history.
In my opinion:
House of a 1000 Corpse was bad. Where were the "corpses". The viewer hears about Dr. Satan for the entire film just to see him for an entire 2 minutes at which point it is evident that he has no purpose in the film - he was a "story" used to show some special effects off. At least that what it seems like. Otherwise, the film is BORING and Captain Spaulding was the seemingly only redeeming factor.
Devils rejects was decent, but not great by any means. The character played by Matt McGrory seemed a little point less and unnecessary. Otherwise it was all shock and awe, not to much in the way of horror - CNN provides the very same.
Halloween remake - Why? The original is just fine.
His Cartoon El what-ever-O. I watched half of it - what a boring piece of trash.
The pattern I see here is of FAIL. However, if only true horror movie fans were to see these films, we would not have this problem. As Tom Savini said in responce to a question about RZ's Halloween and other remakes at New England Rock and Shock 2008, "Its you fucking idiots who keep PAYING to see that bullshit, who are keeping it alive".
If he is going to remake the blob, I want in HD and exactly like the original - same lines, same script, same scenes, everything.

I watch a lot of low budget horror. Unless the acting is truly terrible, bad acting doesn't really bug me. The Halloween remake I did love. But H2, IDK, none of it sat well with me, nearly from the beginning. It felt like he left something important out and then threw in the mother and kid Michael to fill in for that. The mask thing bugs me on a psychological level for the character. It kind of showed that with the
Spoiler...rednecks that went after him. They beat the crap out of him. Until he puts the mask on, then he's hardcore Michael again.
Due to the 2 films he made that I loved, I will probably watch whatever he puts out. I will either love it or I will hate it. But it will be something to talk about.

He's gotta up the ante on Blob kills for my taste. Paul McCrane's death in the 1980 remake was legendary.
Also, wait...is this a remake of the original or a remake of a remake? Where will it end?!?

I felt that his first Halloween was average and the second one pretty much sucked. Apparently he is not going with a Blob in 'the Blob' as his tween fans will just laugh at it. So why the effing remake the movie then dumbarse if you feel this way.

Only fitting how some of us were discussing Con-Air the other day that Simon West is tapped to direct this.

With modern CGI we can now fully realize the potential of The Blob. The world I create will be totally believable, immersive and emotionally satisfying. It’s a thrill to introduce an enduring icon to a wider audience and a whole new era of fans.

I'm sure all the RZ haters will be glad he's no longer attached to this.
