New Leprechaun starring Warwick Davis actually it's called Vamperchaun

What happens when a vampire bites a Leprechaun? well you get a Vamperchaun and that's what happens in this film from the director of the original Leprechaun film and star Warwick Davis and thanks to Indiegogo the film has been financed. Sounds fun to me

    It also says this

We wanted to thank everyone for their generous support. We have received full financing for the project and will not be accepting any more contributions. Everyone who has been a contributor thus far will get their prizes as promised. The great news is the movie is getting made!

they probably closed it so no more donations could be sent in

Sorry man, just sounds like something being so forced to pull off something so completely outlandish. The entire premise sounds silly and uninteresting to me

    Silly, yes.

Uninteresting? HA! Would you rather keep lapping up those generic masked killers that never turn out to be a monster? (unless it's metaphorical in which case that's bullshitty and boring) Would you rather it be another half-assed zombie franchise that's about zombies looking for their asses? Would you find it interesting if it's just about vampires that try to be scary but fail because they're just boring people wearing tight black leather skin suits thinking they're interesting while at war with werewolves but they're all boring? Would it be more interesting if it was just about an evil gingerbread man versus an evil bong? Would it be better if they just keep trying to make CGI Werewolves be interesting where they'll always fail?

Of course it's a stupid thing, of course it's not going to be Shakespearean art house of horror, of course it'll probably just be a waste of time just taking vampires and mixing it with Leprechauns looking for red gold...but you know what? I think you'll miss out on the disasterpiece of a life time!

Not all horror movies are as you described, they would and do suck just as bad. This has Sci-Fy Channel, Sharknado written all over it. Crap like this is what gets horror movies scoffed at.

I'm not saying tongue-in-cheek this doesn't work, because it does. However I have no interest in it.

All those other scenarios you said are very similar IMO, all lazy ways out of making a quality movie...this is no different. Except making this it is easy to fall back on any negativity because the rebuttal will be "It's Vamperchaun, what did you expect?".

Not to be a prick or anything but...where were all the horror fans when The Cabin in the Woods came out? What about Red State? What about Stake Land? Trick 'r Treat? You're Next? Lords of Salem? Frankenstien's Army? The Collection? Tucker and Dale vs Evil? Splice? A Serbian Film? The Descent? Hatchet I & II?

Whether you like any of the films I posted or not the Horror genre has gems in them that lots of Horror fans over look, these are all great films that while people saw them, from what I gathered not a lot of Horror fans really talk about these or praise them enough for the ideas these execute, the violence pushing the envelope, the dark terrifying atmosphere, the entertainment, the artistic merits, political satire, good acting, good directing, fantastical effects that are for the most part makeup effects with mixtures of CGI at times, familiar-but-fresh story turns.

These are things that give more seriousness to the Horror genre and when it comes down to it more Horror fans have to praise these films for a wider audience to have any resemblance of interest in seeing them, the more that people talk about these films and why they're so good what makes them so good then more people will get interested.

Then the Horror genre might start getting a lot more respect than it ever has. On the other hand, movie purists would like to think indie films don't matter because they're not mainstream releases, if they're not polished or beautiful looking then they're not worth a watch which is bullshit because Jim Sterling, one of my idols, puts this idea to bed once and for all that Horror fans actually should go and watch:

Indie films almost get NO attention in the Horror fanbase just because they're low budget films while that pathetic ignorant lie is streaming through horror fans are missing out on cult classics such as Brian Paulin's Bone Sickness, Blood Pigs, Fetus, Dustin Mills' Zombie A-Hole, Skinless, Bath Salt Zombies, Hell even when you have to take a huge gamble with these movies ABCs of Death, V/H/S, and Jason Eisner's Hobo with a Shotgun.

Also Toby Johansen's Hacksaw: Documentary of a Psycho Killer, Backyard Vampire and his upcoming masterpiece Slaughter Horse...

Both mainstream and indie horror are vital to any universe of film that can lead to more exposure for thrills and chills! Just remember to keep an open mind when it comes to these newer horror movies coming out, but of course whenever Syfy, The Asylum and Platinum Dunes is involved always be very afraid.

You aren't being a prick, just not knowing what I saw and like and possibly making assumptions about what I do. In your first paragraph I love almost all those films but for Lords and Red State, both of which I wouldn't pay for with dog shit scraped off the bottom of my shoe. Frankenstein's Army was merely OK but I liked what they tried to do there. Trick 'R Treat is one of my favorite horror films (films overall) of all time. But I don't see what any of those films have anything to do with Vamperchaun reason to exist I hope you aren't trying to say since horror fans overlooked those they will flock to Vamperchaun!

With seemingly being so concerned about the state of horror do you really want crap like this to represent it? Funny how you mention be afraid of SyFy films being that that is immediately what I think of when thinking of where this movie is coming from, ala Sharknado.
