Often times the most notable characters in any horror movie end up being the hero/heroine or villain/obstacle, etc but sometimes there are characters that go under the radar. I'll just name a couple of my favorites.
Dr Crews played by Terry Kiser in F13th Part 7 New Blood.
As cliche as he was, I always thought that was the charm of his character. A doctor who has no real stake in helping the recovering heroine Tina (Lar Park Lincoln) with her fathers death. His only real goal was exploiting the girl for her telekinesis along the way hiding the evidence, getting her mother killed and ulimately dying one of the more gruesome deaths in the Friday series.
For shits and giggles, I always thought it would've been funny he had somehow lived and escaped. He knew what was up in the area long before the shit went down yet he stayed there like a true Friday character. Still I found the character pretty fun and deceitful.
The Old Man/Drayton Sawyer played by Jim Siedow in TCM and TCM 2
Given way to the likes of Leatherface, the hitchhiker and choptop throughout the first two films. I always enjoyed this character the most of the family. As much as I didnt care for TCM 2, even then I thought Jim Siedow stole the show in that film just as much as he did in the original.
He was the somewhat 'civilized' member of the family on some levels while still flipping switches to insanity in instances in both films. I always enjoyed the scene in the original when he makes believe to Sally that everything was gonna be aight but as she takes a look around and he gets his shit with that grin of his. I thought that was one of the best moments of that film and she replies 'wha, what are you doing?' or something to that effect.
What are some of your favorite characters that dont really get much recognition?
