Matt Reeves has been confirmed as director once and for all. Apparently those rumors about talks breaking down are false http://www.idigitaltimes.com/batman-...ter-all-585850

I still have such low expectations for this movie.

I have actually enjoyed the DC universe, own all three so far and have them on the shelf next to the Marvel films. What can i say? They entertain me

Expectations?
Whats that?
Here's what will happen.
They will go super dark but instead of doing the dark knight, they will do batman. So as a tone they will try to be like the dark knight, but bring in ridiculous characters. They will also cut it up to the point where we will need a special edition just to have basic questions answered, this edition will not be released until the dvd comes out. Half the cast will be horrifically miscast. And uhh... yah. Another shit fest.

It turns out Matt Reeves signed onto direct because he was given full creative control.

I don't really believe it. Affleck and Geoff Johns had creative control before and I don't see Affleck giving it all up (as still a producer and star...and maybe writer). I'm sure the studio will let him choose the tone and style and some plot points...but he's not going to be running the show on his own. WB has too much history against that for me to believe it.

So, obviously this movie has come a long way, but here is the trailer. Looks great so far. I have started loving Pattinson's performances since I watched him in The Lighthouse.

I was hoping to be impressed, but I wasn't. It both looks and feels a lot like the Daredevil series on Netflix, even down to the fight moves (at least in the brief tussle we got to see). And while Daredevil was truly great (IMO), mimicking its tone and visuals doesn't instantly make you great as well. And I'm not sure I'm ready for an emo Bruce Wayne. Dude looks like he just stepped out of a My Chemical Romance video.
It took me some time to take Pattinson seriously as an actor after those awful Twilight movies, but I think he's made some very interesting choices over the last several years in regards to roles he's taken on, and I've grown to appreciate him more as an actor. But from day one I wasn't sure about him as Batman, and this mediocre trailer has done nothing to raise my hopes.
As always, I don't mind being proved wrong. But honestly, if I go the rest of my life without another Batman movie, I'd be fine with that. He's been rebooted and his story re-imagined so many times now that the character has lost all interest to me.

I'm diggin' the dark look and atmosphere. Hopefully the fight scenes are more like what we saw--raw and brutal

I’d probably get around to watching it when I inevitably tripped over it at some point rather than go out of my way to see it, but this time I’ll probably make an exception. This looks and feels kind of dark and brooding, so with that, coupled with Pattinson, i’m on board.
Never seen Twilight flicks, and doubt I ever will, so the first thing I remember him from was The Rover where he shined.
Throw in Lost City of Z, The Devil All the Time, and The Lighthouse, and you’ve got yourself a proven versatile actor.
I’m limited with his material, but haven’t seen anything yet that he’s done that I haven’t been impressed with.
Basically what I’m saying is that I’m not big superhero fan like I seemed to be when I was a tadpole, but I still get around eventually to seeing most of them - they just don’t have a high priority for me. Might make an exception on this one.
