A gruesome death. A sealed-off high school. Something crawling beneath the skin. When a student’s terrifying breakdown shocks a classroom, an almost invisible parasite spreads through the halls, instantly twisting teens into maniacs. Locked inside with no escape, students and staff spiral into violence and hysteria. Amid the chaos, Principal Van (Justin Long) struggles to maintain control, drowning his anxiety in alcohol before losing his grip on reality – and his head. Burned-out science teacher Mr. Shanker (Emile Hirsch) steps up as the only adult trying to make sense of the madness, uncovering traces of a government experiment gone wrong. Outside the quarantined halls, Detective Sikorski (Kevin Connolly) races to contain the outbreak before it consumes the entire town. The real horror isn’t what’s under your skin – it’s what it makes you do.

Director Jonathan Bensimon was quoted saying: "Kevin Connolly sent me a script that was a real pager turner and with him and Shaun Harris we turned it into a pulpy horror feature with a cast that deftly mixes darkness and levity to create something truly unique. I’m especially excited to collaborate with Kodak and Cinestill, blending stylistic techniques, to design visuals to give Lice a signature look."
One of the film's producers was quoted saying: "Lice is stylish, visually arresting, and hilariously disturbing—everything I love in a project."
Producer and star Kevin Connolly had this to say about the project: "I wanted to make the kind of movies that I loved as a kid. I’m a horror fan and I wanted to make something for guys like me — fun, weird, scary, and completely unpredictable. It made perfect sense to launch our feature division with a project this bold and ambitious. Jonathan Bensimon is that rare combination of creative mind and brilliant technician. And when you get two incredible actors who can blend comedy and drama the way Emile and Justin can, you’ve really got something special on your hands."
Emile Hirsch plays a "burned-out science teacher Mr. Shanker, who finds new purpose as he investigates the bloodthirsty mites"
Justin Long plays "Principal Van, a man who is out of his depth and soon out of his mind."
Kevin Connolly plays "the tenacious Detective Sikorski, the desperate cop on the outside racing against time to contain the outbreak before it consumes the entire town."
The feature film directorial debut of Jonathan Bensimon.
This marks the first project under actor Kevin Connolly's new production banner ActionPark Productions.
Based on an original concept by actor-producer Kevin Connolly and described as "a horror mashup of The Breakfast Club and Lord of the Flies" and a "gruesome throwback to ‘80s high school classics."
