Actress and star of the first movie Amber Midthunder had a recent interview where she offered fans a brief update on the project, which either hasn't moved much or she's simply out of the loop. Either way, here's what she had to say: "I don't know. I don't know what's happening. [Laughs] I genuinely don't. I also want to do another one. I would be happy to do another one. I love Dan Trachtenberg with my whole heart. I love that world, I love that character, and I think that there's some fun ideas out there that I've heard that are very cool. I'm really excited. He obviously has Badlands coming out this year, so I'm really excited to see that. Whatever Dan does, I will always be his fan. I think we have to hope that will become real and we'll just wait." Actress Amber Midthunder (Naru from the last movie) is expected to return and if she does return it would be the first time in a Predator movie that a previous lead character reprises their role.
This movie is not connected to the recently announced other standalone Predator movie called Badlands.
This is a sequel to 2022's Prey, from co-writer/director Dan Trachtenberg (10 Cloverfield Lane).
