This is another one of those "Roger Corman" cheesy creature flicks. I haven't really seen much of his work, but I know that he's produced a lot of films that started off a lot of famous stars we may be familiar with today. Although the film lists two directors, it was primarily directed by Barbara Peters. Apparently Roger Corman fired her and hired someone else after most of the film was finished, because she supposedly refused to film scenes involving the creatures attacking and ripping off the clothes of women.
