They just aired microsoft's E3 conference live on G4 tv. Did anyone watch it? It looked pretty impressive, with a complete overhaul of the 360 dashboard and X-Box Live due out this fall. I'm very interested in these press conferences because I haven't bought a next generation console because I'm not sure to go PS3 or X-box 360. Anyone have any insight on which one is better?

Easy -- PS3. It's not prone to fail as much as the 360, plus the customer service is better. On top of that, you've got Blu-ray

- "Extensive" downloadable content for Fallout 3, exclusive to Xbox 360 and Windows.

- NBC, Universal to add movie/TV content to Xbox Live Marketplace.

- Fable 2 in October, Gears of War in November... but Resident Evil 5 delayed to 2009.

- Microsoft announces new Xbox dashboard design, looks totally different than old "blades" design. Coupled with "Avatars", little Mii-like characters that you can take online.

- New version of Geometry Wars coming exclusively to XBLA next month.

- Partnership with Netflix. You can access the Netflix library if you subscribe to both XBLA and Netflix, and you can share them with your friends and watch them together online.

- New social games: Scene It that uses Avatars, "You're In The Movies" Xbox camera-based game.

- Serious Rock Band 2 announcements. AC/DC, Chinese Democracy, Fleetwood Mac...

- Final Fantasy XIII coming to Xbox 360.

This was the news I was dying for when I was a 360 fan, and news I was afraid of being a Sony fan. I still got a PS3 because the PS3 is getting multiple versions but a Final Fantasy Single Player game is HUUUUGE.

This rumor has been speculated for over 2 years. SE kept saying no then sounded disappointed by the PS3 sales. This will be history for SE, they claimed they never nor did they want to ever release a FF game multiple plat on release.

So much for the rumors that Sony paid them. I guess Sony was right, they don't pay for exclusives.

As for your question - the PS3 is the better machine and worth every penny. The 360 is more expensive, more likely to break. The 360 has better online atm but that's changing plus you have to pay

no, FFXIII is now multiplatform. Everyone assumed it was going to be exclusive to the PS3 because the 360 is dead in JPN and SE loves its JPN fans and they didn't want to release the game on a dead system. Multiplatform is a smart move. Sony made a big mistake not buying this game. Sony owns about 8% of Square Enix, they have a say I would think.

The multi-platform jump for Final Fantasy will be huge for Square Enix for sure. Im still pretty torn between the two consoles, I'm a huge playstation fan because I've had both of the previous systems. A couple of my friends have PS3 and a couple have 360 each of them has things I like, I guess I'm still leaning towards the PS3 because of Blu-Ray beating out HD-DVD. They're just so damn expensive now...

The only answer is both consoles. I still haven't utilized the PS3 much but I haven't been able to get my hands on MGS4. I would probably recommend the 360 over the PS3 just because of the library and the fantastic online play.

Everything just depends. I've been living in a house with all 3 systems and, between my roommate and I, the 360 gets more playtime then the PS3 and Wii combined. So, customer service/red ring issues aside, I'm gonna go with my 360 until the PS3 gives me something worth drooling over.

The only PS3 exclusives I care about are Resistance 2, MGS4 and GoWIII. As for Killzone 2, I'm gonna wait until I play the game before I make a decision on that, because the first one was a complete and total letdown.

Anyway, it all comes down to personal preference.

I guess I'm kind of changing this to an E3 press conference thread. Nintendo just took the stage. I guess they're debuting something to make the wiimotes more responsive.

Nintendo just got off stage. I wasn't very impressed, the showed the wii motion plus which increases the sensitivity and responsivness of the wiimote. They debuted a new music game called WiiMusic which looked kind of cool but overall it was kinda boring..
