Return of the Fly (1959) and The Fly 2 (1989) - underrated sequels.

Friday the 13th Part III is my favourite of that series. I might even put Part V as my second favourite..

This seems to be how you like these series in order of your preference for each series as a whole, is it?

I meant the order of how you like each series compared with another, not how you rank each individually with the films in their series.

On the subject of TV shows, I was thinking for shows with at least three or more seasons that best season could be a good sub-category, too.

Friday The 13th - All as mediocre as each other, so any of them really. Jason X is probably the most entertaining.

A Nightmare On Elm Street - The original. Although New Nightmare is also really good. The rest of them are piss poor though.

Halloween - The original. Season of the Witch (a sequel in name only) would be a close second.

Saw - The original. The series turned more and more farcical after this one with the whole lets put a spin on a twist and throw some traps in.. oh shit we forgot to put in a decent story. Nevermind no-one will notice.

Scream - The original, although I'm not a fan of the franchise at all really.

Phantasm - The original. Part 2 is pretty decent too, but the others are average.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre - The original. I actually prefer the 2003 remake to the sequels which are pretty shitty.

Child's Play - The original. Although all of these films are all pretty shitty. I haven't seen The Curse of Sucky yet though.

Hellraiser - The original. Although part II is also extremely good. Part V is also great and III and IV are pretty entertaining too. The rest... not so much.

Puppet Master - Ugh... I haven't seen all of these (and don't care to) but I'd say it was a toss up over either part 1 or 2.

Final Destination - The original. I'm not a massive fan of these films though.

Alien - Easily the original. Although I do love 3 and Resurrection too. Aliens is okay, but is a bit too action-y for my tastes.

Predator - The original, although 2 is also really good. Fuck the shitty 'Predators'.

Romero's Living Dead - Night. Followed by Day. Dawn is okay but is very over-rated. Land is pretty shitty (I prefer Diary - which is okay) and Survival was an abortion.

Most of the later sequels are shitty.. but 1-5 in particular, great 80s slashers.

I wouldn't say it's shitty but it wasn't up to par at all with the first two for me.

Forgot to say before but I doubt you'd much like Curse if you're not a fan of the previous ones, although it's more like the first couple in tone.

On the subject of anthologies, I forgot about the two Trilogy Of Terror films. I never saw the first but remember catching the second one on the USA Network years ago. It was pretty good from my memory, the best segment IMO was definitely the Zuni Doll one.

Curse tries to be more of a dark drama/psychological thriller and fails miserably. Nowhere near the first 3 Child's Play films, which had a healthy dose of horror and humour.

I haven't seen the second yet but you definitely have to check out the first. Karen Black (RIP) is great in it.

I watched Trilogy of Terror II and I felt the same as the first one - first story was ok, second story meh and third story was the best. Wasn't as good as the original, though. The actress they got was ok, but Karen Black in the original was better.
