House of Flesh Mannequins (2009)

REVIEWER RATING:
8/10

Those who know me and my film reviews, know I am not a fan of arthouse horror. After watching House of Flesh Mannequins, my opinion hasn’t changed. BUT…I am not blind to the fact that some artsy disturbing cinema has become an established subsidiary within the genre. So let’s continue…

Underdog (2019)

REVIEWER RATING:
7/10

One quick glimpse at Underdog, and the first reaction could be “it’s about a troubled girl who becomes a fighter and lives happily ever after.”  Hmmm…not quite.

Be My Cat: A Film for Anne (2015)

REVIEWER RATING:
7/10

How far would you go to convince the love of your life to become the star of your twisted fantasy? For Adrian Tofei, there are no limits.

The Craft: Legacy (2020)

REVIEWER RATING:
5/10

The Craft hit theaters in 1996 to decent numbers and ultimately became a surprise hit at the box office, despite the mixed reviews from critics.

The Lay of LaLa Land (2017)

REVIEWER RATING:
8/10

The beauty of a psychological drama is that it can be easily considered a sub-genre of horror, given the disturbing elements involved in the storyline. Thus is what The Lay of LaLa Land is all about…emotional and traumatic abuse and the horrific outcome of those dynamics.
