Written/directed by married filmmaking duo Joseph and Vanessa Winter (duo behind Deadstream).
It's said that this project will have nothing to do with the Jay Anson book or any of the previous films. Instead, it will reportedly focus "in the famed real-life paranormal story behind those stories, with the film offering a fresh look at the notorious Amityville house itself on 112 Ocean Avenue itself, and a legend situated in the public domain."
Apparently the DeFeo murders nor the Lutz story factor into the story.
