Lionsgate distributes in the US.
Filmed in Thailand.
Directed by Michael Spierig, Peter Spierig (duo behind Daybeakers, Jigsaw, Winchester), who were quoted saying: "We were huge fans of the first film and couldn’t wait to continue the journey. Our aim was to capture the same intensity that Scott Mann and his team established in the original, while adding new, layered characters who will connect with audiences as they endure extreme and terrifying heights."
It's said that this film and the upcoming third entry "will bring back original characters from the first film, while also leaving room for new ones to be introduced."
This project is in the very early stages of development, as the studio and director Scott Mann are still going over ideas for a sequel. Mann was quoted saying: "We’ve got a couple of ideas we’re kicking around... We don’t want to make something that feels like a copycat or less than the first one." The plan is to reportedly "get moving" on the project later this year. (3/17/23)
It's said that actress Grace Caroline Currey may return as "Becky Connor," but at the moment the studio is simply going over potential story ideas.
The first movie was a surprise hit, making almost $22-million theatrically on a budget of less than $5-million. It was reportedly also a hit on streaming platforms, specifically Netflix.
Director Scott Mann returns co-write with Jonathan Frank.
This is a sequel to 2022's Fall, which will also be followed up by Fall 3.
