The releases have slowed down this week with only a half-dozen new titles coming out. The most notable in the lot is SCREAM 7, which opens to theaters this Friday. Check below for a look at the movies coming out this week.

Longtime fans of the genre, Schuetze and Visser leaned into the tropes of found footage and isolation in the woods, with their self-named characters headed into the wilderness to make a single-camera film, only to find chaos and death.

Robbie embarks on a dangerous quest to contact his deceased girlfriend through a ritual that summons the dead. When college student Ember is invited to join her white friends for a fun weekend at the country home of school Queen Bee Abigail, she finds the place unsettling and oddly familiar. Drawn to an unkempt grave in the backwoods, Ember begins to be plagued by buzzing, biting, vicious almost invisible, black bugs known throughout Florida as Noseeums. Along with this constant irritation, she starts having premonitions of grisly death and bewildering, chilling flashbacks. Soon, the shocking lore of the land becomes clear as restless spirits seek a festering retribution for past crimes, and Ember embraces long overdue vengeful acts.

FRIDAY - FEBRUARY 27th (IndiePix Unlimited)

After the sudden death of Michi's estranged father, Michi, a young mother and dry alcoholic, decides to stay in the inherited summer house for a few days with her young daughter Hanna, hoping to regain the motherly trust she lost. Already during the first night, long repressed memories of Michi's childhood and her mother’s suicide begin to haunt Michi. Trying to numb herself again with alcohol only drives her daughter Hanna further away and accelerates Michi’s paranoid state. When her demons also start threatening her daughter, Michi must confront them to save Hanna.
