A brand new year is just days away and this final week of '25 is unsurprisingly slow in terms of new releases. Nothing notable comes out until Friday when the Aussie zombie flick WE BURY THE DEAD lands in theaters (check my early review for it here). The Romanian comedy DRACULA (not related to the recent Luc Besson movie) is also reportedly hitting VOD on Friday. Check below for the info and trailers for the movies coming this week.
NOTE: This is not a comprehensive list (there's simply too much to keep track of), but it is a list of the more notable movies to look out for. If you spot an error or if a movie is missing from the list, contact me. Also, keep in mind that these are US release dates, so they may differ if you're in another country.

DRACULA
FRIDAY - JANUARY 2nd (VOD)
A frustrated filmmaker, facing creative paralysis, turns to an A.I. chatbot in order to make his latest movie a hit. The result is a series of increasingly outrageous vignettes exploring the myth of Dracula in all its forms. From a wild chase through the streets of modern Transylvania to eerie hauntings in the Romanian countryside, cinematic provocateur Radu Jude returns with another boundary-pushing epic featuring a union-busting Dracula breaking a strke, an adaptation of the first Romania vampire novella, thwarted romance, fields of phalluses, lots of blood, and much more.
WE BURY THE DEAD
FRIDAY - JANUARY 2nd (Theaters)
After a catastrophic military disaster, the dead don’t just rise - they hunt. Ava (Daisy Ridley) searches for her missing husband, but what she finds is far more terrifying.
