Revised Details for THE GATE DVD Re-release!
Special features have been updated for the upcoming Monstrous Special Edition DVD release of this 1987 horror film, slated to hit store shelves on October 6th. Special features are said to include the following:
- Audio commentary by director Tibor Takacs, writer Michael Nankin and special FX designer/supervisor Randall William Cook
- “From Hell: The Creatures & Demons of THE GATE” featurette
- "The Gatekeepers with Tibor Takacs and Michael Nankin” featurette
- Original theatrical trailer
They are here and they want to meet the neighbors. After an old tree is removed from the ground, three teenagers come across a special rock with a beautiful crystalline center in their backyard. In 2010 see Michael Myers in 3D!
Well it looks like the Weinstein's are already in development of a third Halloween movie, this time they're aiming for it be done in 3D. I guess they blame the mediocre box office performance of Halloween II on the fact that The Final Destination was available in 3D, which generally costs a few more bucks per ticket.
Writer/director Rob Zombie won't be returning for Halloween 3D, but the studio already has their eyes set on a currently unnamed genre director, whom they said will also offer a "different take" on the series (again). This shouldn't really come as a surprise to us fans considering the past sequels were all mostly done by different directors.

SWAMP THING remake in 3D!
Collider briefly spoke with producer Joel Silver (House on Haunted Hill, Matrix films, Orphan) recently where he revealed that he's developing a Swamp Thing remake, which he hopes to do in 3D. That's pretty much all he had to say about the project, which may or may not actually happen.
Based on the comic by Len Wein and Berni Wrightson, the basic premise followed a scientist who after a freak accident, turns into a plant-like monster that defends his swampy home from supernatural and human foes. Fans may remember the 1982 film from horror vet Wes Craven. A sequel was made in the late 80's, which was followed by a television series in the 90's.

Dark Sky Films set to GNAW their latest DVD
This 2008 UK cannibal horror/comedy is set to hit North American DVD shelves on October 13th from Dark Sky Films, as opposed the the August release date originally announced earlier in the year. Rob Zombie is now remaking THE BLOB
After remaking Halloween and delivering a sequel (which comes out in less than 12 hours) Rob is apparently now set to tackle yet another remake -- 1958's The Blob. Rob had this to say about the project:

Behind JENNIFER'S BODY

EXCLUSIVE: FADING OF THE CRIES trailer!!
UHM is proud to present the official trailer for the upcoming fantasy horror flick Fading of the Cries. The film stars newcomer Jordan Matthews, Hallee Hirsh, Brad Dourif, Thomas Ian Nicholas, Elaine Hendrix and Mackenzie Rosman. The movie is still currently under heavy post-production work, but is estimated to be finished sometime early next year, where it will then be screened to potential distributors.
