Plutonium Baby (1987)

REVIEWER RATING:
2/10

This was another movie to come in a batch of films I got off eBay, so I had no idea what this film was really about. It sounded kind of cool from reading the description on the back, but damn, the movie sure did suck. Plot-holes galore combined with very bad acting. What a waste of time.

The movie starts off with some workers bringing a buried barrel out into the open, which then releases whatever it was that was inside out into the world. We then get introduced to four teen campers, who meet up with a young boy and his grandpa. It turns out that the boy is the baby that was born from the mother who was working at a radioactive plant. The rest of the movie is pretty easy to figure out. Teens die, mother is back with a vengeance, and boy has special powers, blah, blah. The first 40 minutes of the movie takes place in the woods, while the rest is set some years in the future where the boy lives in the big city.

Anyway, the movie pretty much sucks; the only thing that saved it from getting anything lower than a 2-rating was the fact that some of the effects were decent. I mean, I've seen a lot worse than this, but it was still pretty bad. The acting is hilarious in parts. It seemed like they just weren't even trying. I really don't need to get too deep into how the script is just filled with plot-holes. Friggin' waste. I think Troma re-released this film some time ago. Even though it had some gore, I really wouldn't consider it gory enough to be Troma material. That's just what I think. Oh well.

You can tell from the title alone that this would be bad movie. Don't even bother with this.
