Kichiku: Banquet of the Beasts

I honestly never heard of this film before the guys at Artsmagic offered to send me a review copy. After viewing the bloody trailer, I obviously said yes, since I'm a fan of blood and gore flicks (with a plot of course). Now having seen this movie I feel I just wasted the precious 100 minutes of my life, because this movie was a complete waste. Not only did the story not make a lot of sense, but it had a lot of incredibly boring scenes that consisted of nothing more than the actors starring at things or each other.

What I gathered from what was supposed to be the plot, the movie was about the remaining group members of political protestors, where their leader is in prison, while his woman is left running the show with her sexuality. A cellmate of the leader is released from prison and joins up with the group to make sure everything is in check, but things stir when a trouble-maker disturbs the group and reveals their whereabouts to the police. After the group escapes the police's grasp, they set their sights on the snitches and lead them to the forest where they proceed to torture them for a solid 20 minutes. Don't think that satisfies the group’s violent urges, because they begin to take on each other in the last 30 minutes of this whack movie.

So what's good about this movie? Well the blood and gore of course! There are some pretty violent and gory scenes in this flick that'll possibly even make a horror veteran turn his head. This film was way too long for its own good. The first hour is nothing more than incredibly long and drawn-out pointless scenes, some of which had no dialogue at all. It doesn't start kicking until the last half when the group captures and tortures the two snitches for a good 20 minutes. Yes, 20 minutes. A lot of the torture consisted of kicks and blows with objects, until it ends with a sweet head explosion, courtesy of a shotgun. We also get a little castration goin' at one point. Just when you think the movie can't get any weirder, for some reason the group starts killing each other off in the last 30-or-so minutes of the film. I have to admit that I spent a lot of time watching the film at double its speed. I love you fast-forward button! *hugz remote*

OVERALL

Don't bother with this BS. It's nothing more than a torture sequence; loads of nudity from the ugly lead chick, and blood and gore (which isn't entirely bad).
