Black
Demons
I was curious about this movie in the past and despite the bad reviews I've read I decided to check it out anyway -- bad mistake. This is a boring and silly voodoo and zombie movie. I dunno why this is even called Black Demons when they are clearly zombies. The story is basically about a brother and sister duo and the sister's man, who all decide to vacation in Brazil. From the start the brother obviously has issues and shows an odd obsession with voodoo. He somehow ends up following a person to a voodoo ritual where he records what's going on with a voice recorder for reasons unknown.
He
wakes up in his motel room the next day with an amulet around his neck.
The three end up driving down a dirt path at one point only to get stranded
and offered help from a couple rich locals. They follow the brother and
sister couple to their old home and stay the night. The weirdo brother
of the group decides to visit the nearby graveyard and use his amulet
and recorder to resurrect the dead. What a dumbass. Next
thing you know it the old slaves who used to work in the home are back
from the dead and ready to get revenge on their masters. They have to
kill six white people in order to fulfill their goal and finally rest
in peace.
This
was a pretty boring and pointless flick, but at least it had some decent
gore. I'm not much a Lenzi fan and from the films of his that I have seen,
they weren't very good, so I should have expected the same from this.
The zombie makeup was decent, but I didn't think they looked rotting enough.
Supposedly these are slaves and they've been buried for decades, and somehow
they are resurrected and still have hair and all their flesh? I dunno
about that. Maybe it has something to do with the voodoo or something. I
would have given this a lower-rating, but it had some decent zombie action
at times and the gore it had was a plus. This movie is supposedly the
unofficial sequel to the Demons films, but I see no relation what-so-ever.

boring Itallian zombie flick. Silly plot and boring characters.
Don't bother.
