| Blade 2 I finally got to check this movie out today. I thought it was good, but to be honest, I expected it to be a little better. When I first saw the trailer for it, it looked interesting, but I didn't find myself really that pumped up about seeing it like I did with the first movie. The story is basically about Blade having to team up with an elite team of vampires, who were actually trained to kill Blade. They do that to fight this new breed on the streets that feed on vampires called "Reapers" who are much deadlier than regular vamps. You'd think that Blade would let the Reapers kill off the vampires, but he knew that after the vamps are gone that they'd turn to humans. I like director Guillermo del Toro, but I didn't like how in some scenes of the movie they clearly used computer effects for certain stunts in the movie. The movie is really entertaining and starts off fast, but it didn't have the edge the first film did. To me it felt as though there was something missing in it; like it wasn't complete. I dunno, maybe it's just me. I liked the dark atmospheric-mood that was set through most of the movie and the main reaper, Nomak was just a cool character as Blade. Towards the end of the movie they load it with small twists and such, which were pretty predictable. I would have given the movie a higher rating, but felt the movie wasn't as good as the first and I didn't like some of the effects used in some stunts. I believe there is already talk of a third movie. Director del Toro wants to do a third where Blade goes dormant for a while and the vampires pretty much take over. I think that's a very interesting premise and I don't think I've really seen a movie where vampires take over the world or anything. Hopefully it'll be a little better than this was. OVERALL Comments page 1 of 1:
Wesley Snipes is back as the Daywalker in Blade 2. Earning 150 million dollars worldwide, this sequel starts two years after the first film. Has more villains: Reinhardt, Scud, Eli Damaskinos, Karl Kounen, Jared Nomak, Chupa, and Rush. Leonor Varela. Beautiful lady. Is Nyssa - Blade's new love interest. Donnie Yen kicks ass. Phil Tippett's Studio a great job in designing Nomak and the Reapers - Mutant vampires who have become a threat on both humans and bloodsuckers. Nomak is almost impossible to be beaten. He has already infected a lot of humans - turned them into Reapers. Who will win in the end? The Reapers. The Vampires. Or The Daywalker.
overall not a bad movie, but definatley not as good as the original.
