Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2
Well this film was just as I expected, neither good nor bad. It was just okay. There weren't any creepy or scary moments in the film, but I wasn't expecting any anyway so that didn't really bother me. The acting was mild and it was good to see that there weren’t as many curse words or screaming as there was in the first film. How annoying that was. I'm not a fan of the first film because I found it boring and a waste of my time, so I don't know why I bothered to see this film. I guess I just wanted to see how different it would be. I did like this better than the original though.
It's sad that so many people actually believed the first film was real. I mean, sure I thought it was real for like three days after first reading about it in Fangoria magazine, but thanks to common knowledge and having read the directors admit that they made up the whole legend pretty much summed it up to be fiction. Still people believed it to be true. I remember arguing with people for hours trying to explain to them that the film was fiction and not fact. I bet they all felt like asses after seeing the characters in the first film appear on the MTV movie awards or whatever the hell it was.
It's also interesting that people say they like this film because it was original, which in fact it was a rip-off of The Last Broadcast, because it was made a year before the Blair Witch Project and the director of the film admitted to seeing the film at a festival. But both films are a rip-off of Cannibal Holocaust, so it doesn't really matter. Anyway now that I got that out of my system, back to the movie. It starts off pretty much after all that crap in the first film, where people flock to the origins of the blair witch and create some sorts of tours and witch hunts. It's kinda funny how this movie is kinda true in the way that people really did start going to Maryland to hunt down the blair witch and stuff.
One thing I liked about this movie was the whole thing about switching scenes from past to present every now and then, and finally ending up with everything being explained at the end. Sadly, the ending wasn't much of a shock or surprise for me though. Another positive thing about the film was we get to see the hot red head chick naked. Excellent. The only reason why I gave this film a five was because I found myself kind of bored in many parts and didn't find the film very enjoyable. It was interesting now and then and was glad to see that it was better than the first, but it just didn't do much for me.
From what I can remember, plans for a sequel aren't gonna happen and the original plans for a prequel kinda fell apart due to the lack of interest this film made at the box office. I think the prequel still might happen though, but I don't quite remember.
OVERALL
I
thought this was better than the original film, but still wasn't good
enough to get a higher rating. Had some interesting parts, but slow in
others -- it could have been a lot better. See this film if you're bored.
I don't really recommend seeing it if you're a fan of the original though.

SPOILER:
With the knowledge of everybody has gone crazy except Tristen (she just halfly :P ) we can see the whole plot different.
This was a nice trick from the creator, and this made this movie re- watchable.
