| Deep Red I've heard a lot of mixed reviews on this Argento film. A lot of people said it was really good and a lot said it was slow and boring. I'd have to agree on both ends. The movie did drag on a bit, especially since it had a lot of scenes that seemed a lot longer than they should have been, but it was still not a bad film. I thought the opening scene for the movie was pretty cool and found the child's song played before each murder very catchy. It starts off when a psychic tests her mind-reading powers with an audience. She catches the thoughts of a killer and points the person out in the audience. The killer somehow leaves without being seen and the psychic is later killed in her own home. A pianist gets involved in solving the crime, while almost getting killed in the process. Argento at the top of his game. Arguably his best film and probably the best giallo ever. I found it scary and tense throughout. The visual style and composition is stunning. The score is truly creepy. The murder set pieces are fantastic. One should run out of superlatives when reviewing this masterpiece!
As much as I am a Argento fan this movie was good but I did not think it was half as good as it was hyped.I agree with everything you said in the review.
it was a decent film and the soundtrack by goblin is haunting as ever not suspiria haunting but still good and that doll that lunges out of the corner now that doll was badass.
