| Dracula III: Legacy From the theatrically released Dracula 2000 to its low-budget direct-to-video sequel Dracula II: Ascension comes Dracula III: Legacy. Despite having "Wes Craven Presents" before all the titles, Wes really only had an executive-producer role in the first film, so his name attached the sequels are only to gain more interest from those familiar with him as a director (or so it would seem). One thing the Dracula trilogy has in common is director Patrick Lussier, who chose to take the helm of all three films -- a rarity in most cases. This movie pretty much continues after the events of the previous film, leading the main characters Father Uffizi (Jason Scott Lee) and Luke (Jason London) to search Elizabeth and put an end to Dracula, or so they hope. I actually enjoyed this movie, which is a big surprise considering I really didn't like the previous film, hell I didn't even like the first. There was more Uffizi action this time 'round, which is a big plus in my book. I personally think he's a badass character and the two sequels would really be nothing without him around in my opinion. I also liked the fact that the leads aren't all locked up in one area like in the previous film. In this movie they're moving about the back-lands of Romania, and come across a local reporter, who becomes an ally to their connection with the rebels, who also know about the vampires. The special effects weren't too bad, and it had a fair amount of blood and gore. A surprisingly unique aspect of the film would be the encounter Father Uffizi has with a couple vampires, who apparently were a part of a local circus, so they were dressed up in their usual attire, especially the one vamp that chose to use his stilts like he did when he was human. First time I ever saw a vampire on stilts, and it was pretty crazy lookin'. With positive feedback from George Romero's brief usage of a zombie clown in Land of the Dead, and now vampires in their circus get-up for Drac. III, I say more monsters from the circus! If you happen to be afraid of clowns, then adding to the fact that they're undead would be even sweeter. OVERALL Comments page 0 of 0:
