| Final Destination 2 I finally got around to checking this film and I was surprised to find that it was pretty much equal to the first movie. It's rare that a sequel actually lives up to the original, but I think that this film pulled it off quite well. The story is about a girl who gets a vision while on a highway, so she decides to get off and ends up saving a group of people. It doesn't take long for her to realize what's going to happen next, so she tries to get help from the survivor of the first film, Ali Larter, who is reluctant at first, but eventually helps. Now it's up to them to figure out how to stop death before death stops them. What I liked most about this movie was the fact that is plays off most of the deaths with a comedic-tone. I suppose since the audience knows what's basically gonna happen that they decided to make it a bit more entertaining by putting a lot of irony and such in the deaths. I also really enjoyed all the gore that was in the film. I'm surprised that it passed the MPAA with all the gory deaths that it had. I'm sure on the DVD it will probably have extended and deleted scenes. It's funny that such a gory film actually came from the director of Homeward Bound 2. What I found most ingenious about this movie was the fact that it actually ties in with the first movie and it basically seems like just a continuation from the original. It was good to see Tony Todd have a bigger role as the creepy undertaker. The ending was a bit unexpected and hilarious to boot. The original gave us an interesting story and deaths and this film gave us a lot of gore and humor in the cool deaths and the two just evened out in my opinion. I really enjoyed this film and that's why I decided to give it a 8-rating. Most of my reviews are based on entertainment and I was very entertained. I wasn't bored at all with this movie. There have been rumors on a third movie, but it being more of a spoof of some sort. I really don't think the movie needs another sequel, because I'm sure it wouldn't be able to top the first or second film. Interesting short bit of trivia - The sanitarium used by Ali Larter's character is the same one that was used in Halloween Resurrection. OVERALL Comments page 1 of 1:
I GIVE FINAL DESTINATION 2 7/10. HAD MORE GORE THAN NUMBER 1
not as good as the original. not even close. the acting definatley wasn't that good. the characters weren't relateable and i really didn't feel sorry for a single person that died in the movie. i was hoping they would die qucker so i could watch something more worth my time. aside from the scene in the beginning of everyone getting killed on the highway there are no other really thrilling or semi-scary deaths. they seem stupid. like the kid getting flattened by a window. and the ending was ridiculous. this movie tried way too hard to be as good as the original and it didn't even come close. the worst film in the trilogy if you ask me.
