Ship I heard a lot of negative reviews for this movie, so I checked it not expecting much, and actually found it somewhat enjoyable. I can see how a lot of people didn't really like it and only thought the first 15 mins of the film was worth watching. The movie had its moments. It's not scary, but it's not boring either. At least I thought so. The story isn't anything original, but then again neither is the cover art - I.E. Death Ship. The movie is basically about a salvage crew that discovers an old abandoned ship and hope to bank a lot of money for it, but before they can they have to get past the ghosts that roam the ship. Uh-oh. The movie is predictable, un-scary, and clichéd... but enjoyable. I was never bored and found the "twist" towards the end quite interesting and cool. I went in not expecting much and came out rather pleased by the end result. It may not be anything original, but it's one of those horror movies that you can waste time with on a rainy night. The atmosphere was nice and dark, the effects were good and there was a sweet amount of blood and gore. I would have given the movie a higher-rating, but I'm not insane. It's a decent movie, but it isn't what I would classify as a "good" horror film, mainly due to the unoriginality aspect of it. I used to have this film listed on the UHM page as its old working title - Chimera. The original story was about "four salvage crew members who turn against one another after being stranded in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean aboard the remains of a cruise ship (The Chimera) believed to have been lost in the 1960s." OVERALL Comments page 1 of 1:
Good gore, good effects, and a hot chick. Borrowed story, cover art. Death ship was a little scarier anyways, so I give this a 5/10
The only cool thing was seeing all those people get cut in half. The rest of the film was shit!
