Slaughterhouse Rock

This was a silly movie with a dumbass plot. I found myself fast forwarding a few parts because it just lagged on and on. Lets get more into how dumb the plot is - A college boy has nightmares of some kind of creature coming after him and what happens in the dream somewhat happens to him when he wakes up. Sound familiar? Sounds a bit like Nightmare on Elm Street to me. Anyway, eventually he's told that the origin of his nightmares seem to be coming from Alcatraz island. Yes the one with the prison.

When he gets there with his buddies they learn that a beast of some sort was unleashed and eventually each one of those fools get their asses killed. Aside from the plot being dumb, the effects weren't too bad. That's really the only thing positive I can give about this movie. The directing was pretty bad and the same goes with the acting. The only reason why I gave the movie a 3-rating was because I didn't find the film THAT bad. It had its moments I suppose. Well not really, but I didn't find it bad enough to be given anything below a three. Later in the film we learn of the legend or something behind the so called "beast". Not much of a legend, I can tell ya that much. I couldn't wait for the movie to end. It just wasn't working for me.

OVERALL

Not much originality going through this movie. Just some silly plot about some dumbass college guy going to Alcatraz to fight his nightmares. Not recommended.

bad bad bad
just pure 80's badness
the only cool thing was the crazy 80's soundtrack and the the fact that the film was actually fimed at alcatraz
2/10 waste of time
