| They I have no idea what Wes Craven had to do with this movie, but I guess it's obvious that they only put his name on it to gather more people. Either way it's a decent watch. Interesting and somewhat original premise - a group of friends are having visions of things they saw when they were children and they believe that whatever they were afraid of is back to get them. Eventually each one turns up missing and it's up to one of them to figure out what's really going on. I was slightly disappointed by this movie, because I just expected more to it. They explain a bit towards the end about who "They" might be and why they've come for them, but the rest is left for the imagination, which isn't a bad thing. "They" were shown little by little as the film progressed and I liked how they were never shown fully like how a lot of horror films show the audience the whole monster, leaving it less scary than to begin with. It had a lot of those pop-up scares, which never got me. I liked the plot and the ending was pretty good. I was hoping for more background info on "they," like how many is there and where they come from. Though I guess it's safe to assume that there has to be many. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a sequel sometime in the future. Just depends on how much it makes at the box office. The directing and acting is good, but I thought the characters were stupid sometimes, because they'd purposely put themselves in bad situations knowing "they" are still after them. Dumbasses. Most of the movie was in the dark since "they" don't seem to like the light for one reason or another. I wanted to give the movie a higher-rating, but I just felt as though it was missing something. Oh well. It's still a good movie to watch over the Thanksgiving weekend. I'm just glad these recent horror films are finally starting to become smarter. OVERALL Comments page 1 of 1:
I can't say I hated the movie but, I can't say I liked it either. It was ok to watch but, I kept waiting for something to happen to excite me, but when it started too it ended. Worth a rent I guess but, don't expect much.
