| Willard I wasn't able to check this film at the theatres, but I knew by the looks of it that it'll be one of those movies that'll be good, but won't get much recognition with the mainstream audience and apparently I was right. I never saw the original, but from the reviews I've read, this remake seems to be a lot better. The story is about this lonely man named Willard, who ends up becoming friends with the rats that live in his basement. He learns that he has an unusual connection with them and he soon teaches them to attack certain objects at will. He uses this new discovery against all those who did him wrong. I liked this movie, but I expected just a little more from Willard and his rat rampage against the people he didn't like. I still found it interesting and enjoyable in the end though. The performance by Crispin Glover as Willard was good and apparently he also sang the song 'Ben' for the movie as well. R. Lee Ermey was playing the same-old role he usually plays, being the pushy, over-bearing guy that yells a lot. The effects for the film were decent at times, but I guess that's the best they can do with the small budget. The movie has a nice dark atmosphere, which I thought fit well with the overall mood. There was also some nice gore at times. I wanted to give the movie a 7-rating, but I expected slightly more in terms of deaths and such. Other than that it had a nice story and good directing. I liked it. I doubt they'll do a sequel to this film since it didn't do too well in the box office, but I figured that was to be expected from a movie like this. This movie was one of those movies made for horror fans and fans of the original. You can always just check the original sequel called Ben at your local video store anyway. Little interesting fact is that director Glen Morgan played Roger in the 80's horror film Trick or Treat. OVERALL Comments page 0 of 0:
