Dr. Lamb (1992)

REVIEWER RATING:
5/10

Nothing beats a good 90’s Asian gorific fest with subtitles and goofy policemen! However, in this instance…I should have settled for just the goofiness.

Frost (2022)

REVIEWER RATING:
9/10

The genius of James Cullen Bressack’s stories is his effectiveness of placing you in THE most uncomfortable situation until you squirm.

Allegoria (2022)

REVIEWER RATING:
7/10

An allegory (taken from the Italian word Allegoria) refers to the expression of truth or generalization about human existence by means of symbolic fictional figures and their actions. Thus is the metaphor translated onto the silver screen from first time film writer/director, Spider One.

The Black Phone (2022)

REVIEWER RATING:
5/10

“Jesus...what the fuck?!” (My sentiments exactly, Gwen.)

The Passenger (2021)

REVIEWER RATING:
6/10

The Passenger is the latest horror flick to come out of Spain and features a group of strangers that are forced to travel together via a cheap rideshare service driven by ex-pest exterminator Blasco.

Monstrous (2022)

REVIEWER RATING:
6/10

Monstrous comes to us from filmmaker Chris Sivertson (I Know Who Killed Me, All Cheerleaders Die), who has been doing a string of made-for-tv efforts recently, so it makes sense that I got a strong made-for-tv vibe right from the start.

Legions comes to us from Argentina and borrows heavily from the Evil Dead films, especially when you look at the practical demon effects, but much of the gore and campiness seen from those movies don’t make an appearance here until towards the end, leaving a majority of the leadup a bit lackluste

Death Count (2022)

REVIEWER RATING:
9/10

Confession time! Whenever I receive a screener from Mahal Empire Productions, I know I’m in for a wild ride!

FANTASPOA 2022: Ox-Head Village (2022)

REVIEWER RATING:
6/10

Director Takashi Shimizu (The Grudge franchise) is a pretty busy man, having pumped out a new genre flick every year or two in his home country of Japan.

FANTASPOA 2022: Yellow Dragons Village (2021)

REVIEWER RATING:
5/10

Yellow Dragons Village is a strange little Japanese film that starts out one way and ends up completely different, which can sometimes work for a movie, but sadly that's not the case here.
