Alternatively titled Baseball Bimbos in Hillbilly Hell (which pretty much sums up the entire movie), Blood Games is an easily forgotten backwoods survival horror flick to come out've the early 90's. The transition from the 80's was definitely a slow one, as the film displays all the stereotypes one can expect from the genre during the period. However, despite its many shortcomings, the movie itself is still a fairly decent watch on a dull day.

With the genre's recent surge of vampire films, it's hard to find something actually good among all the crap. The recent Canadian-based vamp flick Suck, luckily doesn't fall into the crap-side of things and despite its name, does not suck.

The film follows a underperforming rock band, ironically named "The Winners" that travels from one small town-bar after another, until they strike it big after their female bass player leaves with a strange man named "Queeny" one night, only to return the next day a new woman (or vampire).

Tim Sullivan's sequel to the surprisingly entertaining 2001 Maniacs is finally here after being in development for a few years. Tim had problems finding the right funding for the film, which after seeing the movie, I can see why. While the first was a fun gore-filled ride, with lots of quirky characters and humor, its sequel is nothing more than a low-budget softcore wannabe splatter flick.

Daddy's Girl is a little known 90's evil kid flick that I've somehow missed over the years. Being partial to the particular sub-genre, it's rare for me to find a movie that I hadn't heard of or seen before. Though the film doesn't break any new ground or offer much blood or body count, the decent writing and terrorizing lil' red-headed star delivers the right amount of charm, innocence, and deviousness to make it an above-average watch.
