Arachnid

I didn't expect much from this movie, so I wasn't surprised with the outcome. Some of the effects for the film weren’t bad and some was cheesy. I guess it just fits well with the rest of the cheesy movie.You have to face the facts that you really can't make a good spider movie. The only good ones I've seen are Arachnophobia and Kingdom of the Spiders. The rest are just cheap films with weak plots and effects. The story, from what I can remember, is about this expedition team that goes to the jungle and end up confronting giant killer spiders along with other insects. It's apparently all because of a UFO crashing somewhere in the jungle, which created things to grow large or something.

The acting and directing is decent and, liked said on the top, some of the effects aren't too bad. The close ups of the spider is really cheesy lookin' though. Pretty much has a just another predictable and clichéd plot. I would have given the movie a lower-rating, but if I looked past some of the plot-holes and cheesy effects I found some of the movie somewhat entertaining.

OVERALL

Worth a rent if you're into cheesy killer spider flicks, but don't expect much.
