The Boogens

I read a lot of mixed reviews for this movie before seeing it, with people saying it was fun and such and after seeing it I'd like to know what the hell movie they were watching, because this movie is far from being fun. It was incredibly boring and barely anything happened until towards the end, which really pissed me off. Simple plot - some minors go into an old abandoned mine to put in some dynamite and close it off. They unknowingly set free some small creatures called "the boogens" that run loose through tunnels under a small town. This movie has way too many plot-holes to remember and it leaves many unanswered questions like what the hell are the "boogens" exactly and why the hell they are even called the "boogens". That was never really explained in the movie, from what I remember. We don't really get to see much of the little creatures, which is a good thing, because from what I did see, it was pretty lame.

There’s nothing scary about this movie aside from the fact that it was actually made. It had some interesting scenes, but most of it was just slow and boring. I actually fast-forwarded certain parts that just seemed too long and unimportant. No gore, but some nudity. The acting is decent, but I found one of the characters really annoying. The directing really sucks and so was some of the lighting. It was hard to make out what was going on in scenes within the mine. Oh well. The plot for the movie is nothing special and one would expect it to be clichéd and predictable, which it was. I only gave the movie a 3-rating, because I found it to be interesting in parts and it isn't that bad compared to many other horror films I've seen.

OVERALL

Nothing special. Cliched and predictable. Boring story and scenes. Don't bother.
