Don't Look Now

I read a lot of positive stuff on this film, so I decided to check it out. I had high hopes for it, but I was greatly disappointed in the end. I guess I just expected too much. The story is about a married couple who lose their daughter in a drowning accident. A little while later the wife meets two strange sisters, where one claims to be psychic and able to see the daughter's ghost. The father, played by Donald Sutherland, doesn't believe in the women, but the wife is drawn into it. In the midst of all this a killer is on the loose in Venice where they live. Things start to get weirder and weirder from there.

The movie had a good story, but it was just plain weird. A lot of the stuff in this film didn't quite make sense, like one scene where the psychic sister gets up and starts moaning while in some sort of trance. In the film they also claim that the father is a bit psychic as well, so the movie has an odd mix of a lot of things, including eroticism sadly. They showed way too much of Donald Sutherland in a long sex scene involving his wife. I don't think we really needed to see that.

It's a very strange movie that has good performances by Julie Christie and Donald Sutherland, but I found myself bored in many of the scenes that seemed rather pointless to the story itself. At least it picked up towards the end and had a good ending, but it just wasn't enough for me to give it more than a 5-rating.

OVERALL

Good plot, but weird movie. Has good acting, but a lot of scenes seemed pointless and drawn out. Worth a check if you got nothing else to watch, but prepare yourself for a naked Donald Sutherland

STOP MAKING THIS SHITTY REMAKES! GOD! I'm so sick of hearing about these things, they get these crappy actors, that cant' compare to the originals, they change the stories, and they set them up for these stupid teenagers who have no idea, that these excellent original movies even exsisted. I agree with XANDER, They are ridiculous! The Birds, The wickerman, Nightmare on elm st, Jason, Hellrasier....it goes on and on I am beside myself. HOLLYWOOD needs some F*&%King Talent, and leave the PAST ALONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
