| Eaten Alive I'm a big fan of Tobe's work with Texas Chainsaw Massacre, so when I found out he made another movie somewhat similar to it immediately aftwards, I knew I had to check it. It took me a while, but I got my hands on it and finally got around to watching it. I dunno how Tobe could have gone so horribly wrong after he did so well with TCM, because I thought this movie sucked pretty bad. I mean, it had its decent moments, but I was overall pretty bored off my mind. The story is very simple being about a hotel owner named Judd, who kills the people who stay at his hotel and feed their corpses to his pet croc, who inhabits the nearby swampy area around the hotel. There are a lot of bad things about this flick and one of them is the fact that everything basically takes place in the little hotel. The setting just seemed too fake. I found Judd's constant ramblings to himself rather pointless and annoying. It seemed to just be put there to pass the time and make the fellow seem even more crazy than he really is. I did like the scythe he used as a weapon. The characters are all boring except for Robert Englund's character as "Buck" who appears now and then in the film. It was strange seeing Robert so young and with an unusual country accent. The movie is predictable, with a bad script and uninsteresting characters followed by uninteresting events. I only gave the movie a 4-rating, because it had its decent moments at times (mainly just when the people are running away from Judd) and I thought it wasn't an entirely bad movie. Like I always say, I've seen worse. OVERALL Comments Page 1 of 1:
