The Gift

I'd just like to say first off that this, aside from The Matrix, has to be Keanu Reeves best performance. I think that beard he grew somehow made his acting better. Anyway, I liked this movie. It wasn't a horror film, but a thriller with a lot of chilling elements in it. I feel sorry for the people that go to see this movie expecting it to be a full out horror film.

The plot to the film was pretty good, and the acting was excellent. I was kinda hoping for more scares, but I didn't expect much anyway, so it was all good. It was a bit predictable towards the end of the film, but that didn't bother me much. One surprise though was the nudity from Katie Holmes. I knew she was going to get naked, but it still surprises me since we're all used to seeing her as a shy Joey Potter in the show, Dawson's Creek. A pleasant surprise none-the-less.

It's good to see the director Sam Raimi doing more films now. I kept thinking that it would have been funny to see a cameo from Bruce Campbell, but no such luck. I can't wait for his next film, Spiderman. My only real complaint about the film is that I wished it had more creepy moments to it. It had a few here and there, but I was hoping for more.

OVERALL

So, basically this is a good film to watch if you're looking for a smart thriller. If you wanna see lotsa dead bodies and a straight out horror film, then I suggest you avoid this.

A great film Keanu Reeve's best role, the film would be better if he was in it more, everytime he was on screen i got chills, he was pretty disturbing

I liked this movie a lot, though I don't consider it to be a horror film. Who would've thought that Keanu could play a convincing wife beating redneck!
