| The Hollow This movie has been listed on UHM for a while, and at first it seemed like it would be a pointless low-budget piece O' crap, but in the end it wasn't all that low-budget at all. So anyway, Backstreet Boy Nick Carter makes his film debut with this movie playing a high school jock of all characters. After viewing his acting abilities with this movie I would say to not quit his day job, but I think he'd be better off quitting that too. At least he tried right? Though, he wasn't the only Backstreet Boy that ventured into acting, AJ Mclean had his first appearance in a super low-budget 80's horror flick called Truth or Dare. This is another variation of the timeless story of Ichabod Crane and the notorious Headless Horseman in the small town of Sleepy Hollow, but this time set in present day. The story this time 'round follows the "great grandson" of Ichabod venturing back into the town, but without the prior knowledge of his family background. That is, of course, until strange things start happening, like a headless horseman riding about (that's never a good sign). The grandson, cleverly named Ian Cranston, must go face to face with the horseman and settle a score that should have been dealt with years ago. Let's rumble! There's talks that the movie might actually air on the ABC family channel as a TV-movie around Halloween, which doesn't surprise me, because it plays out like a movie that'd air on TV; and I saw the Rated-R version! The difference? Some sexual references and slight gore. In despite all its goody-goody family-feel, I thought the movie wasn't entirely bad. It was interesting the acting and directing was half-decent at times. There was also a somewhat cool beheading at one point, but no gore otherwise. Bah. OVERALL Comments page 1 of 1:
Not a bad movie. Would have been better with more gore and maybe an R rating, though.
Sorry, I just find this film awesome. Sure, some things in here aren't so climactically scary, but it's still had good blood and scenes with heads getting chopped off and etc. And it deffinately is a great movie to watch around Halloween for any ages who want a great atmosphere of October in a horror movie such as this that I really don't see in many films lately.
a bad movie all around. there were no scares, horrible acting and a backstreet boy for crying out loud! the overall plot was just tired and stupid and the only reason i ever watched this movie in the first place was because i mistook it for sleepy hollow with johnny depp and christina ricci. which was a far better take on the whole "ichabod crane" story.
