Sleepaway
Camp
I watched this film a few years ago when I was younger, and I still remember the shocking ending. I've always wanted to buy the film, but it was never on sale until now. I was hoping to get the DVD, but got the VHS instead. It was still worth it, cuz after watching that ending for the second time; it still gave me goose bumps. This has got to be one of my favorite slashers aside from Halloween, F13, and Cherry Falls. The film has some controversial stuff in it like a staff member in the camp who is a pedophile and a bunch of dead preteens. It's not everyday that you see a film with a bunch of kids dying. Usually it’s older teens or adults biting the dust, but not this time.
The film starts off pretty interesting enough, with a man and his kid getting crushed by a speedboat driven by careless teens. It sounds like the making of another Friday the 13th wannabe, but it's far from it. The plot is much more intense than you'd expect. There are a few interesting twists towards the middle of the film, with the most interesting twist of all at the end. It's funny watching the cousin Angela giving everyone blank stairs whenever someone tried to talk to her. After a while she begins to talk with people around the camp and meets up with one of her cousin's friends. A small bond grows between the two, until she catches him kissing the camp-slut in the woods. Some of the acting could have been better, but other than that it's pretty much perfect. It's also a bit of a surprise to see a camp full of teens and no one getting naked. How rare is that? Especially with an 80’s slasher.
There are two other sequels to this film, but they used a different person to play an older Angela. They ended up being just regular mindless slashers. The original Angela said she'd wouldn't mind playing the character again in a final fourth film, and the director of the original showed some interest in it as well, but from what I know it's not gonna happen. But you never know. I would have given this film a higher rating than I did, but I'm really picky when it comes to giving out nines or tens, and I think an eight is more fitting for this film.
OVERALL
You
might think of it as a F13 wannabe with a title like Sleepaway Camp and
a cover with a bloody knife stuck through a shoe, but it's no where near
F13. I definately recommed this film for any horror fan. I warn you all
about the ending though, it's a little disturbing. Check this one out.

Anyways, this movie kicks ass and the ending is chilling.
I thought Felissa Rose is an anagram of Sarah Silverman
...DUH
Oh and in Return To Sleepaway Camp, Fellisa Rose (Original Angela) is playing Angela!
