The Toybox (2018)

REVIEWER RATING:
7/10

“A haunted RV” is the extent of the synopsis provided for The Toybox, starring Denise Richards and Mischa Barton. In other words – a horror film about a possessed RV with Richards AND Barton would automatically impact my upchuck reflex immediately. Talk about the horror!

Trench 11 (2017)

REVIEWER RATING:
7/10

Set during the final days of WWI (and not to be confused with Overlord, which is set during WWII and comes out later this year), Trench 11 follows a small group of soldiers on a secret reconnaissance mission involving a deep underground Nazi bunker.

E-Demon (2018)

REVIEWER RATING:
8/10

Sometimes the most simplistic plot is the best plot. Thus is the case for E-Demon, a found footage online film that sucks you in immediately.

American Guinea Pig: The Song of Solomon (2017)

REVIEWER RATING:
8/10

Every now and then, there is a film that catches the attention of the horror community due to its content, hype and controversy surrounding its release. For the past few months, that has become Unearthed Films’, The Song of Solomon.

The Ranger (2018)

REVIEWER RATING:
5/10

The genre has seen its fair share of throwback horror films as of late, especially ones trying to recapture that 80's look and feel that was once long forgotten. The Ranger isn't much different, and unfortunately, is also pretty generic as far as these "slasher throwbacks" go.

Joel (2018)

REVIEWER RATING:
7/10

In 1989, Long Island native Joel Rifkin killed his first victim in what was the beginning of a 4-year murder spree.

Puppet Master: The Littlest Reich (2018)

REVIEWER RATING:
7/10

It was only a matter of time before we got a Puppet Master remake, so this film comes as no surprise at all to me. In fact, the biggest surprise is how good the movie actually is, especially compared to the terrible CG-infested modern sequels that Charles Band still churns out.

Blood Fest (2018)

REVIEWER RATING:
6/10

Blood Fest is the latest meta movie to come out of the genre, borrowing ideas from several past releases, specifically 2012's Cabin in the Woods.

Our House (2018)

REVIEWER RATING:
5/10

Our House comes to us from first time feature film director Anthony Scott Burns, who until now worked on short films and segments in anthologies like Darknet and Holidays. The movie focuses on a young college student named "Ethan" and his small team of peers, as they work on a machine that would hopefully offer wireless electricity. Unfortunately, as things with the machine start to pick up, Ethan's parents suddenly die, leaving him to quit school and take care of his two younger siblings.

Inheritance (2017)

REVIEWER RATING:
2/10

Watch this trailer! It’s really darn good. Then, go find something else to do like laundry, dishes, mow the lawn or have a root canal. All activities listed above would be infinitely more satisfying than watching an hour and thirty minutes of Inheritance.
