Set in 1976, the film finds the Stehøe mountain hotel on the brink of bankruptcy after several suspicious and bizarre events. Unsure that their son has nothing to do with the inexplicable events, the young couple running the hotel take the desperate and brutal step of keeping him locked in the basement. But one day something happens to shake the family forever. The official story is that the boy fell into a crevasse while he was out playing, and that the parents were taken by avalanche while they were looking for him. But what is the truth?

- A prequel to the Norwegian slasher Cold Prey, which also spawned a sequel in 2008.

just watched this lastnight. It was entertaining. but like the review said, your basic run-of-the-mill backwoods slasher. I love slashers, and backwoods is my fav sub-genre, but it can get a little boring with people running around in the woods. this one does switch it up with the cliche cabin in the woods you know they'll stumble onto at somepoint, and some beautiful woods/caves/cliffs/rivers along the way. deffinately some tense moments, and some twists and turns, but not as much action or gore as the second. all and all a good movie. 7/10
Can i watch Cold Prey II anywhere in the U.S.?
"Fritt vilt I" was a brilliant movie to me and is one of my faves at the moment. Great mood and music (the piano parts sound good). Nice references to "Halloween" and "Shining".
"Fritt vilt II" was more into action and seemed to be some kind of remake of "Halloween 2" in a way. Pretty good but the first movie is way better imho.
I just hope the prequel will be at least as good as the second movie.
I haven't seen the first two films.. but this movie looks intense.

the first film i purchased from blockbuster. i haven't seen the second one yet.
I didn't hate the firs two films and, let's face it, almost any other country can make a better horror movie than the United States. I'm pumped for this!!
I really loved the first two films. Especially the badass sequel.
I think that if this took a new direction, instead of redoing the first film this could be really awesome.
