Possessed by a spirit in a dying cornfield, twelve-year-old Eden recruits the other children in her small town to rise up and take control. Tired of having to pay the price for their parent's mistakes, Eden leads the kids on a bloody rampage, killing the adults and anyone who opposes her. With the all the adults jailed or dead, it comes down to one high schooler who won't go along with the plan and becomes the town's only hope of survival.

RLJE Films and Shudder will distribute the movie in the US. RLJE Films is planning a March 3rd theatrical release, with an 18 day theatrical window before it hits VOD. It will debut on Shudder sometime later. (1/26/23)
With theatrical locations in places like NY and LA still closed due to the pandemic, the filmmakers apparently decided to have the film premiere in Florida, where theaters have been open since June. Screenings started in Sarasota County, with plans to expand to Tampa. It's said that if the limited regional rollout proves successful it would then expand farther to Georgia and other neighboring states. One of the producer's was quoted saying: "It’s a little challenging to release a movie right now, being candid. But we think the movie’s really good, and we think people will come out if we can get the message out. So we’re kind of trying it out on a regional basis on a number of screens, and seeing if we can convince people that we can make it safe." It's said that if this "regionall rollout" doesn't work out that they'll consider other release options. (10/27/20)

Despite most film and TV productions put on hold due to the covid-19 pandemic, the filmmakers were able to secure an “exemption to the general quarantine rules” by working closely with the state film board. The production "significantly reduced its cast and crew size and is implementing health and safety protocols in line with government restrictions for workplaces…and is keeping local police informed on their operation."

This marks the second remake, as a TV version aired on the SyFy channel back in 2009.
This is a remake of the 1984 film with the same name (which is based on a Stephen King novel) and marks the 11th film in the long-running franchise.
