PROJECT DETAILS
- The film is getting a video-on-demand release on Time Warner and Comcast systems in its original unrated and uncensored cut in December 2010.
- The film was reportedly pulled from Candian screens shortly after its theatrical release, supposedly due to fear of "being fined for showing an unrated film." The US would soon follow for undeclosed reasons.
- Received a nationwide release via AMC theaters, the largest release for an Unrated film in more than 25 years.
- The MPAA initially gave the movie an NC-17 rating.
- Made its world premiere at 2010's FrightFest.
- Filmed in LA.
- Writer/director Adam Green has said that fans can expect the gore boundaries to be pushed once again.
- It's said that this film will be much darker and not offer as much humor as the previous film did.
- Horror veteran Tom Holland (Fright Night, Child's Play) comes out of acting retirement in almost 25 years to play Marybeth's "Uncle Bob."
- AJ Bowen plays a man named "Layton", who is part of a group of hired men, who head into the swamps to kill Victor Crowley.
- Tony Todd plays a character named "Reverend Zombie."
- Danielle Harris replaces Tamara Feldman as the role of "Marybeth" from the first film.
- Adam Green has been quoted saying that "the sequel is going to be for people that liked the first one and if you didn’t like it, then don’t see it."
- The film's storyline is rumored to offer more backstory on Victor Crowley.
- Kane Hodder will be returning as Victor Crowley.
- The obvious sequel to Adam Green's 2006 slasher homage Hatchet.

it's halloween season, why aren't they showing these movies at all theaters. movies like i spit on your grave, hatchet 2, mothers day. it is just unfair! i'd pay to see these before i'd pay to see let me in. case 39 by the way is awsome!
Why does Victor Crowley look different from the first film? And did anyone else know they are planning on making a third and fourth hatchet?
Ya i knew, they are actually planning on having a 3D sequel. Victor looks different because he was underwater and scabbed from the first.
it's like friday the 13th, jason looked different in every movie.
I will hope this is showing at my AMC down in Riverside. If not then i'll have to wait till the first 1/4 of 2010. Even if i do go i hope it comes to dvd soon
.
i loved the first one it was a breath of frest air then i heard the commentary and heard that tamra feldman said that she would comeback but she didn't that was a let down, but getting replaced by danielle itll be cool to see her in that role but tamra make a great marybeth, so i can't wait to see how it goes
Well now we know how at least 4 guys die. Cool trailer thou.
Red Band Trailer = Win on so many levels. >)
It's almost the 1st!
Can't wait for this it's going to be one of the best films of the year
Can't wait for this to come
out It's going to be bad ass >)
For Danielle Harris alone....

we all know for sure that danielle harris is definetly gonna play a better marybeth i met danielle harris at horrorhound weekend in pittsburgh she was the nicest celebrity i met that day and she is also a great actress especially in the halloween movies
thank gia that they are replacing the actress for marybeth, that chick didn't want to know that she was a tourist from new york or an inbred from the deep backwards south
I like the 2 hatchets for the poster. When the hell is it coming out!
Hell yes i cant wait for Hatchet 2 i loved the 1st 1, & i dont got it so i gotta get this 1. Victor crowley kicks ass.
Shower scene with Danielle Harris =

YES,I CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS ONE!! KANE HODDER NEVER DISAPPOINTS..
MOVIE WAS OKAY NOT BEST I SEEN I THROUGHT IT WAS MORE FUNNY THAN SCARY PLOT WAS OKAY AND FLIM WAS LOW BUDGET BUT GRADE 10/10 I GIVE IT 6. IT WAS KINDA DIFFERENT IN ITS OWN WAY I SEEN THE FIRST SO I CHECK THIS OUT , I WOULDNT BUT IT I DOWNLOAD IT SOO IT KINDA WORTH SEEING TO ME.
I actually enjoyed the first one, thought it was a great throwback 80s slasher
"the sequel is going to be for people that liked the first one and if you didn’t like it, then don’t see it." You gotta respect a director that tells you straight forward about his movie. I definitely can't wait to see this one. Classic 80's style horror: gratuitous violence and breasts.
Damn! I miss the 80's now.
i hope adam green gets a bigger budget to work with. the first one was a solid all around 80s style horror, but there is room for a sequel to be even better if the overall scope is widened (bigger and more elaborate setting; more characters) and potential more fully realized.
the idea of a hatchet as a weapon was cool
i liked the 1st one but the ending was terrible it just made me say "why?how?" but yeah sounds good
So happy there doing a sequel!! The 1st was brilliant, was just like watching an 80's slasher, Knowing Adam Green he wont disappoint and im soooo happy Kane Hodder is returning
I really loved the first Hatchet movie, I thought it was a really cool horror movie idea. I loved the story of Victor Crowley, and the fact that Kane Hodder (Who I already love for playing the role of one of my favourite horror icons ever, Jason Voorhees) played two characters in the movie, Victor Crowley's father in the flashback scenes and of course Victor Crowley himself, made the first film a must have for me. I will be looking forward to seeing the second movie, and now they have the lovely Danielle Harris on board for this one, it's sure to be a really good sequal to look forward to.
realy excited to see this. first one kicked ass.hoping for more of a back story.but knowing adam green fans of the 1st wont be dissapointed
I loved the first one. It's probably one of the best of it's kind. And from what I've heard about part II, it's gonna rock. Adam Green rocks. Kane Hodder is a good actor and I hope we get to see more of the backstory from his caracters. Maybe something about Victor's mother. Good and original deaths were promised to us and that's what made first one so great. I just loved the death scene were Victor tears the head of a woman apart with his bear hands.
Waiting for it.
The first one was a fun cheese fest, no doubt about it. But I do agree that Victor did look a bit funny looking. If they keep the cheesey gore fest and a better looking Victor, I wouldn't mind seeing the sequel. Its hard to find even a decent cheesey horror movie nowadays, but this one is one of the few that was very good. Hope the sequel is as good.
If Danielle Harris is in it it's gonna rock...She is soooo hot!H2 releases on Jan. 12th can't wait still need Halloween 6 & H20 to complete my set...But I really want H9 finish off original before re imagining the story....hit me up everybody
They Just need to work on the look of Victor. It shouldn't make you laugh when you see him. It did fit into the cheese of the film but make him a little more mysterious or somethin. And are we looking at another orgins horror movie?? Please NO!
The first one was pretty entertaining. I got a few friends who don't really like horror films to enjoy it. The ending was great. I hope it's as insane as the first one.
me too i love this movie.this movie was so fucking scary .they should do part 2
