Halloween 6 (Producer's Cut)

Okay to start, this version is way better than the one that was released in theaters. Although I don't remember much of that version, I do remember it being disappointing. This producers cut in my opinion has to be one of the best in the series, aside from the first of course.

For those of you who don't know much about this cut, it has about 45 mins of unseen footage, like a different beginning and ending. I don't know why exactly they didn't release this version to theaters, because I'm sure if they did they would have made more money. These cuts are kind of hard to come by, but if you talk to the right people or check eBay you might find a copy. The copy I had wasn't the best quality, but I could still see what was going on and that's all that mattered to me; although, it would have been nice to see it clearer.

Anyway, the changes that is in this film make the plot more interesting and keeps you in suspense through most of the scenes. It's interesting on how they explained Michael was so unstoppable. Makes sense I guess. A lot better than some dumbass demon inside your body, like in Jason Goes to Hell. Now that's a waste. Watching this film just made me realize how badass Michael Myers really is. Having watched this it got me really anxious on the upcoming sequel; which brings me to another point. If you see this film and think about the ending of H2O it would make a lot more sense on how Michael can return in a part 8. I think those of you who've seen this know what I'm talking about.

I also really enjoyed this film because it seems darker than the previous films. I don't remember how the version that was released in the theaters ended, but the ending to this one was excellent -- Makes you wonder how different H2O would have been if this version was released in the theaters. Probably would have stayed the same actually, since they ignored the previous sequels anyway.

OVERALL

This film has to be one of the best in the series. If you're a fan, I suggest you do some hunting for this version. You wont be disappointed.

Apparently this is meant to be getting a dvd release in the near future, I've seen the dvd of it on various sites apparently it's a double disc special edition. I hope it's true, if it isn't the guy who made the dvd covers is very good on photoshop and deserves to be beaten.

I just bought this film the other day, I bought this set that came with 5 dvds with 4 diffrent versions of the film. Anyway let me just say WOW! That had to be the best halloween sequel ever! Unlike parts 2,3,4,5,8 it actually had a meaning to it. The film tells you why micheal kills. I thought if they changed a few things here and there ( just tiny things, nothing big) then it would officaly been the best halloween sequel. And i think that it is just as good as the orginal. And i bet that it would of made more money then the reg version.

This is a much better version than what the director put out there. Chapelle had a complete lack of respect for Pleasance and cut down many of Loomis' scenes.
This film is definitely still one of the worst in the Halloween series but it is an astounding improvement over what was put out.
For many Halloween fans this was the holy grail to get in the series due to its rarity.
Its the 2nd worse film in the series, the commercial cut is the worst. But its still a fun if unusual little movie and a bad Halloween is still better than most other series films.

Finally got my hands on this! The 8 rating that Frightmaster gave is pretty much right on. I would say give it an 8.5. It kept me interested the whole time and it was a great script with answers! Writers should use this formula instead of giving us cheap thrills with blood and kills. I searched for this on and off, but the last 2 months I really did some hunting to get a good version. If anyone wants to know how to get this for a good price and good quality, let me know and I'll give you the info....I am a man of the people ;).

If you're lookin for a cheap copy of the producer's cut, you can find it on www.fleshwoundvideo.com/h666. They have various versions, including the "Producer's Cut", the "rough cut", the "TV cut", the spliced version of the "Producer's Cut", and they each usually run for about $15 each, but they also have a 5-disc set for only $45.99, which includes the "Producer's Cut", the "rough cut", the "TV cut", the "Director's Cut" and a bonus disc. And they're all in uncut 16:9 anamorphic widescreen, excluding the "TV cut" which is 4:3 only.
But they also sell other cool rarities, like the Fantastic Four movie, The Video Dead, both series of Spaced, and all sorts of stuff.

I didn't like that version. It made Michael look like he was into incest

My mistake. It was a bootleg film that I saw and not a Blockbuster movie.

I saw this version 3 to 4 years ago. It was being circulated in a boot-leg manner and I was able to get my hands on a copy for free. Yes, almost every scene is different or longer and of course shows what happened at the end of part five. One my myspace I posted a blog a long while ago with an interview with the screen writer for part six. He talks about the reasons the studio decided to reshoot a good portion of the film and his angst with what they did to his script which I agree with. They should have kept the first cut. I think the studio wanted and had to make money when the time came to do H20 and the only way they could get a good profit off of it was to have Jamie Lee Curtis be in it which caused them to *** the whole series up but why did they scramble to change part six I don't remember. I still like the studio/theatrical version but the "producer's" cut is definitely far better in the vein of staying true to the story.
